Samuel Nartey George, the Minister-designate for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, has stood by his colleague Rockson-Nelson Defeamekpor, the Member of Parliament for South Dayi, in the wake of his recent suspension from Parliament.
This comes after the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, suspended the South Dayi MP and three other MPs from the House for two weeks after they all disrupted the Appointments Committee's
During the tumultuous scene, tables and microphones were destroyed, and several MPs came dangerously close to fighting.
When the Speaker spoke in Parliament on Friday, January 31, he denounced their behavior and ordered the suspension.
In a heartfelt message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Mr George wrote, “I stand with you in this moment of unfortunate adversity,” offering his solidarity to Mr Defeamekpor following his suspension.
