Prior to the 2024 elections, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, often known as NAPO, the NPP's vice presidential candidate, revealed that he occasionally feels like criticizing those who claim he was unable to get Ashanti Region to vote for the NPP.
He said this in Parliament when Caleb Kudah, a presenter on Channel 1, asked him why the NPP didn't have enough votes to win the elections.
He responded by saying that when reporters ask him why his party lost in the Ashanti Region, he occasionally becomes upset.
He said that no one in the entire nation cast a ballot, and it is not reasonable for any rational person to believe that the NPP's defeat in the Ashanti Region was due to a lack of turnout voters.
He said: “…. when I hear someone say these things I really feel like insulting that person….”
