The Ghanaian Electoral Commission (EC) has been cautioned by political analyst Samuel Boateng to exercise caution in their dealings as the general election date approaches.
He believed the EC could have prevented some minor errors if they had been more careful in their election-day preparations.
EC Chairperson Jean Mensah told reporters during a news conference on Sunday that ballots intended to be burned were leaking, which would prevent the special voting exercise from taking place in both the Eastern and Western regions.
However, the EC has set Thursday, December 5 for people in the Eastern and Western regions to participate in the special voting for the general elections that will take place on Saturday, December 5.
Mr. Samuel Boateng, who was speaking with Kwamina Sam Biney about the Bryt Adekyee Mu Nsem issue, criticized the EC for its actions, saying they might affect Ghanaians' confidence in the electoral body.
Although he was unable to link it to deliberate action, the political analyst stated that the scenario might impact the legitimacy of the election results because the majority of people are even skeptical of the EC's operations.
