The Ghana Law School lecturer and well-known private attorney Bobby Banson has praised Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga for his excellent leadership during the recent screening of Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Banson said Mahama Ayariga showed great maturity by stepping in to help his colleagues regain order during Thursday, January 30, 2025's turbulent session of Parliament.
Banson claimed that Ayariga's leadership so impressed him that he called him his "hero" of the day because of how easily he managed the issue.
"He was my hero during the entire video. It was remarkable how he was able to stand up and calm everyone, even asking his coworkers to sit and making sure they paid attention. I genuinely give my hat to whoever shown leadership during that 10-minute altercation," he remarked.
On Saturday, February 1, 2025, he spoke on JoyNews' Newsfile, which was hosted by Samson Lardy Anyenini. He commended the MP's actions as an example of great leadership.
An overview
As Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister of Health-designate, was being vetted in Parliament on Thursday, January 30, 2025, mayhem broke out.
The Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, stated that on January 30, 2025, the Appointments Committee had decided to examine four candidates.
But after five were verified, two more were added—samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the minister-designate for foreign affairs, and Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the minister-designate for health—which caused confusion.
In the struggle between the Majority and Minority, tables and microphones were smashed.
It was observed that the Minority side had flipped the vetting table over and destroyed nearly all of the materials on it.
