The election defeat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2024 was the most predictable, according to president-elect John Dramani Mahama.
He said the political party's conviction that they would have won the election was a sign that they were out of touch with the reality on the ground, and it was clear from the beginning that they had lost.
The New Patriotic Party may not have listened to Ghanaians' grievances about the numerous injustices occurring under the current administration, according to John Dramani Mahama. According to him, Bawumia's assertions that the NPP hoped to win the election showed that they were out of touch with local conditions.
At one time, democracy in the NPP was no longer what we were all accustomed to. They had clearly lost their sense of awareness of the nation's current events.
Since this was the most predictable election, I don't think that the concerns and other issues got through. The loss should have come as no surprise to them.
Because they had put in a lot of effort and believed they would win, I witnessed Vice President Bawumia express disappointment. After all, it was clear they would lose this election. He explained this to Alan Kyerematen and his Alliance for Revolutionary Change, showing that they were out of touch with the reality on the ground.
