The Lawra Constituency's Member of Parliament-Elect, Bede Anwataazumo Ziedeng, has expressed his annoyance with several local media outlets, stating that their failure to assist his campaign during the 2024 elections nearly put an end to his pursuit for the position.
In an interview with Nandom FM, Ziedeng expressed his disappointment at specific radio stations' lack of support, which he felt may have helped spread his message.
"If I go there to speak, some people might not get the information I'm trying to put across because West Link FM is still not fully established, they have issues with their reach and coverage area," Ziedeng said, expressing his worries about the station's constrained broadcast range.
Notwithstanding the possible obstacles, Ziedeng maintained hope that he could successfully contact his constituents through alternative media channels.
Nevertheless, when he discussed his encounters with Tideltaa FM, another nearby radio station, his annoyance boiled out.
He acknowledged that he had never before received an invitation to Tideltaa FM, demonstrating the depth of his difficulties in obtaining media access.
Even when I try to purchase airtime with money, they turn it down. Going there will be a recipe for catastrophe, and my message could be misconstrued if I insist on going.
He thought his political message was being weakened by media outlets that ought to have been impartial forums for all candidates, therefore his remarks were tinged with betrayal.
