In Asawase, a Kumasi suburb, a fire at Dagomba Line claimed the life of a three-year-old boy.

The dead was napping with his older sister when their wooden shelter building was destroyed by fire, according to eyewitness testimony.

Although his 12-year-old sister was able to escape the fire, she was unable to wake his brother, who had passed away.


Residents believe a malfunctioning electrical connection caused the fire, while the exact cause is unknown.

Despite their best efforts, the locals were unable to contain the fire due to its size.

The building was reduced to char along with several of its properties.


Since then, authorities have buried the burned body while they conduct additional research to determine what caused the fire.
