"Otumfuo's convoy has not been attacked as speculated, so kindly disregard the false information circulating on some social media platforms," a statement said.Nana Kwame Amo, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II's traditional bodyguard, also known as Sledge Bonnah, had claimed that the Asantehene's convoy had been ambushed while they were in the Bono region visiting Techiman.
Otumfuo's trip to Techiman and Nkoranza to pay homage after the passing of Nkoranzahemaa Nana Adutwumwaa Dudaa Kani II included the visit.Any attack on Asanteman would be greeted with a harsh response, Sledge Bonnah said in a social media statement on December 2, 2024."We have had attacks on our busses at Techiman. Asante will respond forcefully. It's not much what you just saw," his message said.
He stated, "This is what Techiman youth did to some of our men and buses.""Take a look at what the people of Techiman have done to Asanteman's bus," one guy stated. Nobody was offended; we simply became aware of the attacks against us.In the widely shared videos, multiple people—including a child—are shown injured during the attack on the alleged group.
