During the current elections, John Dumelo and Lydia Alhassan supporters battled at the University of Ghana polling station, according to MyNewsGH.
Citi News reports claim that after learning that someone had recorded the event, Dumelo's supporters confronted Lydia Alhassan's team for allegedly giving out money to voters.
The military intervened to restore order as tensions descended into anarchy.
Nonetheless, Dumelo's supporters were even more uneasy as a result of the military's presence because they felt threatened.
"Can't I use my phone in public anymore?" one supporter complained to a Citi FM reporter. I have not violated the privacy of anyone. The man was slapped for filming in a public area. Another said, "We were informed that funds were being disbursed within. The individual who filmed it went there for that reason.
The fan went on to voice dissatisfaction with the military's engagement, saying, "We don't understand their job, and we don't know why the military is here. The cops should be the only security guards present. Why are the military members present, and why are they blocking our ability to take footage of voters receiving money?
The altercation demonstrates the escalating hostilities during the electoral process.
