Renowned Ghanaian musician and cultural advocate, Amandzeba Nat Brew, has called on the government to ensure balanced national development, particularly in the northern regions.

Speaking on Joy Prime, the highlife legend emphasized that many people migrate from the north due to inadequate infrastructure and economic opportunities. He urged leaders to invest in essential facilities to encourage people to stay.

“Take facilities to the north if you want people to stay there. Look at what Burkina Faso has done; they are even further north than our northern regions, yet they have made significant progress,” he stated.

Amandzeba also expressed concern over Ghana’s slow pace of development compared to neighboring countries, arguing that no leader since Dr. Kwame Nkrumah has achieved even 20% of the first president’s accomplishments.

“Leadership after Nkrumah, some have tried, but nobody has reached 20%, or even a fraction, of what Nkrumah did,” he asserted.

Addressing water management challenges, the musician criticized successive governments for failing to implement long-term solutions to prevent annual flooding caused by the Bagre Dam spillage in Burkina Faso.

“Every year, when the Bagre Dam is opened, it floods into Ghana and destroys our crops. Those who promised to build dams to protect the affected areas either lacked proper technological designs or simply had no clue what they were doing,” he added.

Known for his advocacy through music, Amandzeba continues to use his platform to push for sustainable development across Ghana. His iconic song Wogbe Jeke remains a tribute to Ghanaian history and identity.
