The European Union (EU) has provided the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) with a range of non-lethal equipment to enhance national security and improve operational efficiency.
Details of the Donation
📌 Items donated include:
✔ Civil engineering tools
✔ Advanced communication systems
✔ Riverine assets
The equipment was officially handed over during a ceremony at the 49 Engineer Regiment last week.
Enhancing Security & Border Protection
According to Defence Minister Omane Boamah, the donation will:
🔹 Strengthen Ghana’s human security initiatives
🔹 Support social intervention projects
🔹 Improve border protection against emerging security threats
Strengthening Ghana-EU Relations
The handover ceremony was attended by:
✔ Senior military officers
✔ Government officials
✔ Diplomatic corps
✔ Media representatives
The gesture highlights the EU’s commitment to supporting Ghana in maintaining peace and security in the region.
