Ghana’s sixth fixture in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar has been relocated to Morocco and will now take place on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Originally scheduled for Antananarivo, Madagascar, the match was moved after the Madagascar national stadium failed to meet FIFA’s approval standards. The game will now be played at the Grand Stade d’Al Hoceima in Morocco.
Upcoming Fixtures & Ghana’s Performance
Before facing Madagascar, the Black Stars will play Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 21 to kick off their international break.
Ghana is eager to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 campaign, where they won only two games and failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Currently, Ghana and Comoros share the top spot in Group I with nine points from four matches. The Black Stars have secured victories against Madagascar, Mali, and the Central African Republic, with their only defeat coming against Comoros.
World Cup Ambitions
Having previously qualified for four World Cup tournaments (Germany 2006, South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014, and Qatar 2022), Ghana is determined to secure a place in the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
With crucial matches ahead, the Black Stars will be aiming to solidify their lead in Group I and boost their chances of qualifying for football’s biggest tournament.
