A recent operation conducted by the National Security on the early hours of Friday 21st March, 2025 has been commended for its professionalism after two vehicles with identical registration numbers GT-3147- 16 were picked at Santa Maria .

Acting on a tip-off, I arrived at Santa Maria to verify the authenticity of the activities of alleged National Security operatives in the community.

The National Security operatives took the cars to the Police Station for a transit.

The vehicles were subsequently transferred to the National security Headquarters where it was revealed that the operation was carried out by a special monitoring and intelligence team .

There was nothing suspicious about the security team’s actions, as they clarified their intent to the car owners, ensuring them that they were not there to intimidate anyone.

The National Security team explained to the affected car owners that it is impossible for two vehicles to bear the same registration numbers.

The operatives further noted that ,the operation is in their own interest and that if the same registration numbers are used to commit a crime, it would be difficult to track the perpetrators .

The team revealed to the owners of the vehicle that, the incident is a National Security threat and investigations will focus on how these vehicles were registered at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) without proper customs documentation.

The car owners expressed their appreciation for the professionalism displayed by the National Security team.
