The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially referred former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, to its National Disciplinary Committee for alleged misconduct.

In a statement dated March 20, 2025, and signed by the party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP stated that Adwoa Safo’s recent comments on Joy News’ Pulse Show directly contravened a directive issued to all party members.

The directive, instructed members to refrain from discussing internal matters that could create disaffection within the party on media platforms.
"As she is aware, the directive explicitly states that all party members must cease discussing party issues that create unrest, negativity, and dissatisfaction in the media and other related platforms," the statement read.

The party emphasized that, as a former MP, Deputy Majority Leader, and Minister of State, Adwoa Safo was expected to uphold the principles of discipline, loyalty, and unity within the NPP.

The statement further noted that her actions not only disregarded party directives but also undermined efforts to rebuild and move forward.

The NPP accused Adwoa Safo of violating Article 3(5) of the party’s constitution, which mandates members to protect and defend the party’s name. As a result, she has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action.

This move by the party highlights its commitment to maintaining internal discipline as it prepares for future political engagements. It remains to be seen what sanctions, if any, the committee will impose on Adwoa Safo.
