Eric Adakanu, 32, is in the custody of the Kasoa Divisional Police Command after reportedly killing his wife over adultery allegations.

Ayisha Mumuni, 32, died from machete wounds.

According to 3news.com, Ayisha had traveled from Accra to spend the holiday season with her older brother in Bawjiase, Awutu Senya District, Central Region. However, Eric allegedly continued to accuse her of having extramarital affairs.

"In one of such instances, the suspect, following heated exchanges with the deceased, fetched a machete from their room and attacked her, leading to the immediate death of the mother of three," the web site reported.

According to police reports, the perpetrator attempted to flee after attacking the victim, but was captured by officers from the Kasoa Divisional Police Command.

Eric Adakanu is now in the custody of the Bawjiase District Police Command and is collaborating with investigations.
