A Nairobi newspaper was criticised by Kenyan Senator Gloria Orwoba for printing what she called "gossip."

On Friday, December 20, 2024, the Nairobian Newspaper carried an article titled "Orwoba love affair with President Kufuor: Bundle of Joy" about the senator and former president of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor. Gloria declined to share more about her relationship with a former Ghanaian leader, despite the fact that she gave birth to a healthy kid.

In an official statement issued on December 20, 2024, she responded to the publication, accusing it of propagandising by associating her with a romantic relationship with Kufuor. Orwoba stated that she had spent the majority of her career coping with various sorts of violence as a female politician. She has demanded an apology and the article's retraction.

"The Nairobian Newspaper presents slanderous rumours as fact for whatever reason, and I strongly disagree with it.

"I have had to cope with verbal and physical abuse for the majority of my career as a female politician. I have boldly challenged influential men from all walks of life, up to the highest levels of leadership, about their deeds and inactions that support and uphold harmful patriarchy. It's regrettable that we openly violate and infiltrate private areas, particularly those of women and children who lack the financial means to respond. An Honourable Statesman of Africa such as H.E. John Kufuor ought to be granted the opportunity to respond, at the absolute least.

"For these reasons, I demand an apology and withdrawal of this article and the propaganda it insinuates," the statement stated.
