Kwame Asare Obeng, often known as A Plus, the Independent MP-elect for Gomoa Central, has revealed details about a recent conversation he had with Kennedy Agyapong.

In a social media post, A Plus stated that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had approached him with an offer. According to him, the NPP has proposed that if he joins their party, he will not run for the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 elections.

This disclosure has caused great debate among political analysts and supporters, as A Plus' move might dramatically alter the balance of power in Parliament ahead of the 2024 elections.

Meanwhile, the NPP has replied to the allegations, claiming that they have made no proposals to A Plus.

Political observers believe that A Plus's next moves will be widely observed because they may impact the strategy of both the NPP and the NDC in Gomoa Central. Constituents are also looking forward to his decision, which they hope will lead to further development and prosperity in the neighborhood.

However, A Plus stated that he has a stronger link to the National Democratic Congress. He also verified that the NDC had asked him to a meeting set for tomorrow at 8 a.m.

While recognizing that selecting between the two parties will be difficult due to his relationships with both groups, A Plus highlighted that his final decision will be based on which party provides the best benefits to him and his constituents in Gomoa Central.

"My heart leans toward the NDC," he told me, "but I will ultimately side with whoever has my best interests at heart and presents the most favorable deal for me and the people of Gomoa Central."
