A Legon security guard who went viral after publicly criticizing Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the member of parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, for providing him with only a 5 kilogram bag of rice and a tiny bottle of cooking oil for eight years has reportedly been kidnapped. Reports on X claim that the UG security allegedly kidnapped the Legon security worker on "orders from above."
The Legon security guard was seen being led into a pickup truck by other UG security guards in a social media footage that went viral. In a brief video released yesterday, the Legon guard bemoaned Lydia Seyram Alhassan's failure to provide him with more than a 5-kg sack of rice and a tiny bottle of cooking oil over the course of eight years.
"It is Lydia, the whole of eight years, this is the thing he can give, we have never received anything from Lydia apart from this one, I am in this constituency, I vote at Bawaleshi," the security guard said on camera. He underlined, "That is politics for you; I can't take this and vote for you, so if you lie to me because of this thing you are giving me, then my vote is not going to you."
John Dumelo has disclosed that he has heard rumors that Lydia Alhassan met with a security guard at the University of Ghana in Legon and allegedly threatened to have him take back his statement or face termination.
