Empress Gifty, a Ghanaian gospel musician and TV host, has faced criticism from Rev. Patricia Asiedua, also known as Nana Agradaa, for publicly supporting NDC's John Dramani Mahama following the 2024 election results.

Empress Gifty was recently seen on social media celebrating the NDC's landslide victory, dressed in party colors and participating in the festivities.

The gospel performer reflected on the difficult experiences she and her husband had under the previous administration, expressing her joy at the NDC's victory.

Empress Gifty, whose husband was a former Deputy National Security Coordinator in the NPP administration, explained how his support for Alan Kyerematen resulted in his dismissal from both his position and the party.

Nana Agradaa, on the other hand, has criticized Empress Gifty, accusing her of being insincere and pretending to adore Mahama after years of disrespecting him when she and her husband were supporters of the NPP.

Agradaa responded angrily, saying, "Now that JM has triumphed, you're sitting on the internet with your unkempt hair spewing rubbish. You and your husband have been disrespecting and embarrassing him for years. You don't want to pretend you always supported him now that he has won. Look at what you said about him a few years back."

Agradaa also criticized Empress Gifty's apparent fondness for the NDC and Mahama, calling it "disgusting."

"If you and your husband want to seek solace in the NDC after the NPP showed you 'pepper,' that is great. But don't pretend you love John Mahama more than anyone else. JM has won; he will be here for four years. But if not for way you handled him and what you said, he may have served eight years already.

"Your husband's negative attitude toward the government even landed him in prison. Because you're hurt, you're fleeing from your original party and uttering JM's name. If you've been fired from your party and want to find solace at JM's camp, you should be quiet and stay there."

Agradaa also stated that, despite her recent outpouring of affection, Empress Gifty does not truly belong in the circle of individuals who honestly adore Mahama and are faithful to the NDC.

She went on to say, "Where were you when our businesses collapsed for JM's sake?" You mocked us back then. When we talk about those who genuinely adore Mahama, some of you should remain silent. It is not now, when he has won, that you are becoming too emotional as if you love him more than anybody else.
