Anas Aremeyaw Anas, a young undercover journalist, has been awarded $18 million in damages after being sued by Ghanaian politician Kennedy Agyapon for slander. The court determined that Kennedy Agyapon deliberately propagated false charges against the journalist. The accused journalist remarked that the ruling was more than just a legal victory, and he told a compelling story about growing up in the barracks and witnessing how power was unevenly distributed to those with guns. His fervent desire for fairness, transparency, and accountability among the powerless was sparked at a young age when he experienced the arrogance of power and injustice in his immediate surroundings.

Anas has dedicated his life to exposing corruption in the territory of various African countries, and his efforts have had a considerable impact on the media and other concerned organizations.

As Anas Aremeyaw Anas continued along this route, Mr Agyapon pursued him, calling him a land grabber, extortionist, murderer, tax invader, and blackmailer who should be hung. Mr. Agyapon's actions were methodically planned to silence and eliminate the innocent journalist.

The issues were taken to Ghana's legal system, which likewise failed to provide justice to the claims, and then to the ESSEX COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT in New Jersey. This problem began in 2018 when the Ghanaian justice system ruled against the journalist, with Justice Baah accusing Anas of terror. Justice Kulendi of the Supreme Court later condemned the circumstances, calling them a "violent abuse of judiciary authority."
