On the Accra-Assin Fosu route, a group of six alleged armed robbers attacked and stole belongings from various passengers, including money, phones, and other items.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, an event occurred on the terrible road connecting Ayeldo and Sekyerew-Nyakumasi Ahenkuro.
Victims of the heist who spoke about the incident described a "terrifying experience with the robbery." They said that after being robbed, they were brutally beaten since they did not have enough money on them.
One of the survivors, a sprinter driver with the registration number GW-6775-24, described his ordeal: "I pulled down at a pothole between Ayeldo and Sekyerew around 7 p.m., when a man with a torchlight signaled me to halt. "I heard a gunshot while struggling to open the driver's door."
According to several of the victims, the armed robbers took away a significant sum of cash, including ¢17,000, ¢12,000, and GH¢1,800. The captives were then ordered to lie down during the event.
The Abura Aseibu Kwamankese (AAK) District Police patrol squad arrived on the scene, calmed the tension, and promised to investigate the heist for the latter. They also promised the public of increased security patrols in the region.
