A report claims that in the Ashanti Region's Asante Akim North Municipality, unidentified gunmen have ambushed and attacked New Patriotic Party (NPP) campaigners. The victims were returning from campaign activities when the horrific incident happened at Kowirem in Agogo.

According to reports, the victims were standing beside their pick-up truck, which had the registration plate GR 7757-24, when the attackers unexpectedly approached them. After crossing the victims' path in an unregistered Range Rover, the attackers started shooting randomly.

While continuing to shoot, the attackers allegedly took the victims' cell phones and the pick-up truck's keys. The suspects took off in their automobile after completing the heist. The police received a formal complaint right away, and officers showed up to look into the incident. As proof of the firing that occurred during the attack, spent bullet shells were discovered strewn over the area.

The culprits, who are thought to have left the area following the event, are being sought by the police, who have opened an inquiry. The public has been reassured by authorities that steps are underway to prosecute the offenders. As the nation gets closer to its general elections, the attack has sparked worries about regional security. To help with the ongoing investigation, police are asking the public to be on the lookout and report any suspicious activities.

As the authorities try to learn more about the attack and its perpetrators, more developments are anticipated. The incident is still being investigated. Political parties and their supporters are being advised to use cautious during their campaigns, as this brutal attack highlights the necessity of increased security in the run-up to the elections.
