As part of her campaign tour in advance of the elections on December 7, Ghana's Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, was showered with support by vendors in Kumasi's Kejetia Market. Market merchants sang her name and played vuvuzelas in honor of her visit to the busy Ashanti Region market, which caused a surge of enthusiasm.

The event's footage, which showed a sizable gathering of fervent supporters encircling Mrs. Bawumia, swiftly went viral. As King Paluta's "Aseda" played from the market speakers, some traders were observed dancing while others raised their fingers in the air to show support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP's presidential candidate.
