BREAKING: Legendary Ghanaian musician Teddy Osei passes away.

Teddy Osei, a legendary Ghanaian musician and saxophone, has passed away.

He was a founding member of the Afro-rock band Osibisa.

Bessa Simons, President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (GHAMRO), confirmed that the musician died on Tuesday, 14th, 2025.

Teddy Osei died at the age of 88, having been born in December 1937.

Teddy Osei, the late legendary Ghanaian singer, was born in Kumasi and began learning music as a child.

After graduating from college, he formed the band "The Comets," which briefly gained notoriety until Osei relocated to London in 1962.

He formed the Osibisa band in 1969 with a group of other musicians.

The band remained popular throughout the 1970s before declining, although it continues to perform today.
