Francis Yaw Frimpong, also known as Nana Pooley, a member of the Asante Kotoko Supporters' communication squad, was fatally stabbed by unknown assailants during a Ghana Premier League game at Nana Kromansah Park in Nsoatre.

On February 3, 2025, a fatal event occurred during a Ghana Premier League match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC in week 19.

According to Asante Kotoko's official statement, Nana Pooley was stabbed by unknown guys during an altercation during the second half of the game.

The deceased supporter was transported to Sunyani Regional Hospital in an effort to save his life after suffering severe injuries.

Nana Pooley married his longtime lover in December 2024.

Asante Kotoko SC has strongly denounced the violent acts that occurred during their Ghana Premier League Matchweek 19 battle with Nsoatreman FC at Nana Koramansah Park.

The club stated that their team was met with animosity from the minute they arrived at the stadium, including conflicts with home fans. Despite the provocation, Asante Kotoko maintained its commitment to fair play and finished the contest.

However, the situation worsened during the game, with missiles thrown toward the Kotoko bench on several occasions, creating a dangerous environment for players and officials. The mayhem peaked when the club's Head of Media sustained a serious ear injury after being struck by an item.
