Claim: According to a widely shared TikTok audio, NPP presidential candidate Mahamudu Bawumia calls Ghanaians "weak-minded" and vows to use deception to help him win the next election.

Verdict: False.

Justification
The Ghana Fact-Checking Significant differences were found when the Coalition compared the widely shared TikTok audio to five of Mr. Bawumia's previous YouTube talks.

In contrast to his usual speaking style, the audio has a professional accent and strange pitch changes that imply manipulation.

Additionally, the audio was classified as 80% likely to be a deepfake by the Hiya Deepfake Voice Detector program.

The audio, according to experts from the Ghana Fact-checking Coalition, most certainly originates from voice-cloning software like Resemble AI, which can produce artificial speech from text scripts.
