Residents in Ghana's Oti Region have reportedly been stunned by a terrible occurrence in which a man named Kofi Mensah killed himself, his wife, and two children after accusing his father of having an affair with his wife, according to TV3 GH.
The community was shocked by the horrific incident, which took place in a small village in the area. Kofi was characterised by his neighbours as a reserved individual who hardly ever discussed his personal issues.
But when he allegedly learnt that his father, Kwame Mensah, was covertly seeing his wife, Ama Nyarko, things took a bad turn. His lethal acts are thought to have been prompted by this realisation.
Kofi allegedly approached Ama on the alleged infidelity, according to witnesses. According to reports, he yelled, "Ama, is it true you've been seeing my father behind my back?" "Kofi, I swear on my life, I would never betray you like that!" Ama angrily disputed the charge. Apparently not convinced, Kofi critically wounded Ama after attacking her with a machete. Then his attention was drawn to their two small children, ages three and five, who were sobbing and attempting to flee.
“I can’t leave you to suffer without your mother,” he reportedly said before killing them as well.
Kofi allegedly used the same machete to assault Kwame at his father's house in his rage, seriously injuring him. "Papa, why did you betray me? He shouted, "You've ruined my life!" and ran away.
According to police reports, Kofi later committed suicide in a nearby jungle. They found his dead body dangling from a tree. When his body was discovered, the locals were appalled. At a nearby hospital, Kwame Mensah, who survived the attack, is still undergoing treatment.
He has refuted the accusations, asserting that he and Ama had a polite relationship. "I have no idea why he believed that I would act in this way. He spoke feebly from his hospital bed, "She was like a daughter to me." The village is in great mourning as a result of this catastrophe. "This is a tragedy that could have been prevented," said a local elder. To stop such tragic incidents, we must promote communication between families.
