Following the sudden death of Maxwell Kwasi Poku, well known as Kotoro, the East Legon Executive Fitness Club (ELEFC) conducted an emotional one-week tribute to remember his life. From December 4 to December 11, 2024, the club and the local community came together to commemorate Kotoro's long-lasting impact on people around him.

Throughout the week, members, relatives, and friends participated in a variety of events that celebrated Kotoro's enthusiasm and dedication. The club conducted fitness challenges, wellness seminars, and charity events, all of which reflected his enthusiasm for health and fitness. Kotoro was well-known for his contagious energy, which he used to inspire people to push themselves and promote camaraderie in the gym. He was deeply committed to helping others improve their well-being, frequently giving guidance to newcomers and establishing a welcome culture at the club.

In addition to these events, a memorial bench bearing Kotoro's name was installed alongside the club's outdoor track as a permanent homage to his accomplishments. His presence at ELEFC went beyond physical fitness; he personified the values of community and personal growth, influencing the lives of many members.

The tribute ended with a candlelight vigil on December 11, during which guests expressed their gratitude for Kotoro's positive effect. Nana Kofi, the president of the ELEFC, emphasized Kotoro's significance, saying, "He was more than just a member; he was a friend and a mentor, always encouraging us to do our best."

Though Kotoro is no longer physically present, his legacy lives on within the club, motivating future generations to continue his work of establishing community and fostering well-being.
