According to JoyNews, a sad tragedy in the Ashanti Region killed four persons after their automobile erupted into flames following a crash.

The event occurred on the Kumasi-Accra route near Ejisu in the Ejisu Constituency late Wednesday night, shocking people.

The victims were identified as Mr. Samuel Boakye, a well-known trader, his wife Adwoa Serwaa, their son Kwaku Boakye, and a family friend, Kojo Asante.

According to eyewitnesses, the Toyota Corolla was driving towards Kumasi when it suddenly lost control and went off the road.

"The car was speeding when it crashed against the side of the road and overturned. Within seconds, there was a huge explosion, and the entire truck caught fire," claimed Kwame Mensah, a nearby resident who observed the event.

Despite passersby's efforts to save the inmates, the fire spread too soon, trapping all four inside.

By the time firefighters arrived, the automobile was entirely enveloped in flames.

The burnt corpses of the victims were eventually recovered and transported to the Ejisu Government Hospital morgue.

The police officers who arrived to the collision believe the fire was sparked by a fuel leak.

"Preliminary examinations indicate that the impact of the crash may have destroyed the fuel tank, causing the fire. "We are still investigating the full details," stated Inspector Afia Agyeman of the Ejisu Police Command.

Family members of the dead are having to cope with the loss. A relative of Mr. Boakye, speaking in tears, said,

"We still can't believe they've gone. He told me yesterday that he will return to Kumasi today. "Now he is no more."

Residents of Ejisu have urged officials to strengthen safety measures on the Kumasi-Accra route, which has seen multiple tragic incidents in recent months.

"There should be more speed bumps and road signage to discourage speeding. "We've lost too many people on this road," said Kofi Addai, a local shop owner.

The police have warned drivers to use caution and avoid speeding, particularly at night.

"We urge all motorists to be extra careful and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on long journeys," the inspector said.
