The GAF clarified in the statement that its primary role in the election process will be standby assistance. The primary responsibility for maintaining security at polling places will fall on the Ghana Police Service (GPS). The military will only step in to address any potential emergencies during the election process if the GPS specifically requests it.

In order to preserve law and order during the elections, the GAF underlined its dedication to working closely with the police and other security forces.
