A recent tweet by Liza Abagrey, an NPP member, sparked debate about the Loyal Ladies, a volunteer group affiliated with the New Patriotic Party's youth wing. Abagrey's account raises severe concerns about the organization's integrity.

Abagrey writes about a phone call she received from Inyass Idrisu Bawumia in 2018. He informed her that a "big man" from the national party was about to visit the North and advised she look after him. What followed perplexed her. The chat hinted that she would be required to "service" this man by sharing a portion of any earnings.

Abagrey was on a loudspeaker conversation with a friend, who encouraged her to use the opportunity. However, she flatly refused, claiming, "I'm not a pimp." According to her, it was at this time that she lost all respect for the Loyal Ladies, realizing that, while some members may be innocent or oblivious, the group's actions were very disturbing.

Abagrey also stated that she declined an offer to become a regional coordinator because she believed it would involve similar abuses. She recognized that the Loyal Ladies are one of the NPP's most active volunteer organizations and might be a valuable asset if properly managed. However, the recent claims cast doubt on their image.

In a Facebook post, she stated: "In reference to the recent slander on Loyal Ladies, one early morning around 2018, Inyass lddrisu Bawumia contacted me and claimed they asked him from national to offer one information of a Loyal Lady member in the North, therefore he wanted to give my details out. I told him that I am not a member of Loyal Ladies. He said, 'But you're a dedicated and loyal member of the party. I'm sure there is an opportunity, so seize it.' I answered, "No problem."

Later that day, I received a call from one of Loyal Ladies' top national managers. She replied, 'A large man will be coming over the weekend to the North, and since you know how we do it, take care of him and don't forget my percentage. I was confused because I didn't understand."

"Fortunately, I was with someone and my phone was on loudspeaker. I wanted to ask her for explanation, but the person told me to tell her okay. I'm not sure how the guy rapidly mastered the assignment. Apparently, she required a Loyal Ladies' member to'service' a wealthy man, accept money, and pay her a percentage. The guy I was sitting with tried to persuade me to offer the opportunity to a certain lady who really needs money to pay her tuition, but I would not do it (sad).

"I didn't give her anything, because I'm not a pimp. That is where I lost all respect for Loyal Ladies, even if some of its members may be innocent or uninformed. I was once approached to be the coordinator for an area, but I declined because I knew I'd be serving huge men and pimping girls as part of my job description. There is little doubt that Loyal Ladies is one of the most active volunteer organizations in the NPP and could be a valuable asset to the party if properly handled, but....issokay."
