Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to take legal action against media outlets that broadcast a doctored footage falsely attributing comments to him on the Free Senior High School (SHS) program.

According to a contentious videotape disseminated by many radio and television stations, Asiedu Nketiah warned that if elected, the next NDC government would discontinue the Free SHS policy.

However, Asiedu Nketiah has categorically denied these allegations, describing the film as an intentional manipulation by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to damage his character and gain political advantage.

During his campaign tour in the Ashanti area, Asiedu Nketiah delivered a statement to the chiefs and people of Atasemanso, imploring the public to disregard the doctored film.

He then challenged the media outlets that aired the deceptive film, saying, "Meet me in court."

The NDC Chairman stated that his comments had been misinterpreted, stating that his original statement referred to the party's resolve to eliminate the double-track system, which he regarded as troublesome for the Free SHS scheme.

He highlighted that he had never recommended discontinuing the Free SHS programme, and that the NDC's position is centered on fixing flaws with its execution.
