This morning, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, Inspector General of Police (IGP), led a group of Ghana's senior security officers to the Jubilee House for a brief but symbolic meeting with President John Dramani Mahama. He went there to convey a basic message to him while also reaffirming the security services' devotion to President Mahama as Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Dr. Dampare, noted for his rigorous leadership and dedication to law enforcement, presented a straightforward but powerful message of unshakable support for the President.
IGP Dampare told President Mahama that the Ghana Police Service is ready to preserve peace and security across the country. He stressed that, under his direction, the police force would remain professional, impartial, and committed to protecting Ghanaians' lives and property.
President Mahama extended his gratitude to Dr. Dampare and the entire security delegation. He applauded the IGP's commitment to modernising the police force and increasing public trust. The President stated that a skilled and effective police force is critical to sustaining peace and promoting national development.
Aside from the Inspector General of Police, the Chief of Defence Staff and other heads of security departments were present.
Their attendance at the occasion demonstrates their significant position in Ghana's security structure. Their leadership roles have received widespread recognition for enacting reforms aimed at boosting security operations and strengthening public relations. The IGP and other security leaders' vow of devotion comes at a time when the Mahama administration prioritizes national unity and security.
