The President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has spoken out, telling Ghanaians that if they prayed and fasted for winning elections, now is the time to pray and fast even more.

"All of us, NPP, NDC, New Force, Movement for Change, CPP, PNC, ACP, all of them, it would take everybody to come on board even those who don't belong to any party especially, it will take all of us to get involved to be able to change this country you know, into what we want it to be. And so what I say is that, the EC part is over, yes it's over. The EC part was the campaign and the elections, now the difficult part begins, now the real work begins, and so, if we prayed and fasted to have a successful elections, then now is the time time to pray and fast even more".

"Why am I saying this? I'm saying this because we need to pray for God to raise our nation, my little daughter said 'Make it the black star of Africa once again'. Our country is in crisis, we all know it, and we will do our best to make sure that we come out of that crisis", John Dramani Mahama said.
