An emergency conference has been called to solve the impending power crisis and prevent the occurrence of 'dumsor' (frequent power outages). President John Mahama ordered the meeting, which is slated for 10 a.m. today, and authorized the Chief of Staff to preside over it. It will bring together key stakeholders from the power sector, including various power producing businesses.

The meeting was held in response to concerns about the present energy situation, which are mostly due to the previous government's failure to secure enough fuel for electricity generating. John Abdulai Jinapor, a Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu and former Deputy Energy Minister, remarked that the government's failure in this area has contributed to the impending energy crisis.

The meeting's purpose is to explore and implement measures to stabilize the country's power supply, assuring continuous electricity and preventing the recurrence of disruptive power outages that have previously impacted daily life.
