A momentous event occurred on January 7, 2025, with His Excellency John Dramani Mahama's inauguration in Accra. The ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries, including former President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other important guests who came to show their support for Mahama's historic event.
In addition to politicians, various celebrities and religious leaders attended the inauguration. Among them was the well-known Ghanaian prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, commonly known as Opambour. A video of Opambour recently went viral on social media, in which he makes strong claims about his role in the tragedy.
According to the prophet, his attendance at the inauguration was critical in safeguarding the event from bad powers. Opambour said, "Mahama was lucky I came to his inauguration; I worked against bad spirits." He claimed that when he arrived in Accra's Black Star Square, he immediately began praying vigorously and continued to do so until the ceremony ended. Opambour later said that he came home and thanked God for ensuring the ceremony ran smoothly.
Opambour's energetic preaching and spiritual guidance have earned him a considerable following in Ghana. He founded the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Center in Kumasi and has gained notoriety not just for his sermons but also for his public prophecies about well-known individuals. His statements at the inauguration elicited strong reactions on social media, with many admiring his spiritual effect and others suspicious of his claims.
