President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has announced the formation of a six-member team to supervise and oversee national security affairs until critical appointments are being made.

Prosper Douglas Kwaku Bani

Prosper Douglas Kwaku Bani is a Ghanaian international development manager and politician. He has previously served as Ghana's Chief of Staff as well as Minister of Interior. Bani is a senior management who specializes in international peacekeeping and development procedures. For over 15 years, he managed creative peace and development efforts with the United Nations in a variety of locales across the world.

Kofi Totobi Quakyi.

Kofi Totobi Quakyi is a Ghanaian politician who served as Minister of Information for the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) from 1985 until 1993. He served in this post under Jerry Rawlings' cabinet from 1993 to 2001. The late President John Atta Mills appointed Quakyi, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as Minister of National Security. He is widely recognized for his strategic ideas and contributions to national security.

Larry Gbevlo-lartey

Larry Gbevlo-Lartey is a retired Ghanaian military officer from the Ghana Armed Forces. He was the commanding officer of the Ghana Armed Forces' 64 Infantry Battalion (Commandos Unit). The late President John Atta Mills named him as Ghana's National Security Coordinator. Gbevlo-Lartey, a private legal practitioner, is currently the African Union Chairperson's Special Representative for Counter-Terrorism Cooperation.

Nathan Kofi Boakye

Commissioner of Police Nathan Kofi Boakye is a retired senior police officer known for his distinguished career. He became well-known as "Commander One" after leading officers from the Accra Regional Command to apprehend famed armed robber Ataa Ayi and his gang in 2005.

During his stint as police chief in the Ashanti Region, he pioneered innovative crime-fighting strategies that created terror in offenders. During his tenure, numerous wanted offenders in Kumasi and the neighboring areas were arrested.

Lieutenant General Peter Augustine Blay (Retd.

Lieutenant General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.) is a retired Ghanaian military commander who formerly served as Chief of Defence Staff for the Ghana Armed Forces. He was appointed by President John Atta Mills in 2009 and handed over to Vice Admiral Matthew Quashie on March 28, 2013.

Blay has extensive experience in disciplines such as negotiation, peacekeeping, and human rights training. He participated in notable training programs such as the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) negotiation methods course in Kampong Cham, Cambodia, and the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations' (UNDPKO) peacekeeping training course in Accra (1997). In addition, he attended a human rights consultation specialist training for members of the armed forces in Geneva.
