Parliament has once again fallen short of its primary goal of enacting the mini-budget, usually known as the vote on account.

Due to suggested changes to the already-deposited document, the House has repeatedly delayed passing the mini-budget since its meeting on Monday, December 16.

The House was unable to reach an agreement, according to the Speaker of Parliament, who announced the adjournment on Friday, December 20.

Legally, public activities will be hampered if the mini-budget is not passed.

Since the budget for the fiscal year 2024 concludes on December 31, 2024, this includes the swearing-in of the president-elect, the election of the 9th Parliament, and the swearing-in of new members of Parliament.

Due to requests made by both caucuses about government business, the mini-budget's passing has run into a number of obstacles.

The minority caucus, which is expected to form the next administration, wants the vote to pass on account of the $350 million in tax waivers that the majority caucus is requesting.

The minority caucus has vehemently opposed the budget, which was presented to the House before to the election.
