The Ghana Police Service is working harder to find people who have been accused of threatening violence in the run-up to the general elections on December 7. The suspects, who have since escaped capture, include Fuseini Yahuza, Bernard Ahedor, Simon, Basit, and Musa Yakubu, also known as Agya Musah. They were listed as wanted on November 15, 2024.
The police said in a statement issued on November 23 that "anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of the suspects is being offered a reward of Twenty Thousand Cedis (GH₵20,000.00)."
"We urge the public to support the ongoing operation in search of the suspects by providing information that could lead to their arrest," the police said in a request for collaboration from the public. They provided a dedicated hotline, 0547927272, for anyone with pertinent information in order to make this easier.
A video of the suspects wearing opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) insignia threatening to start trouble if the election results did not favor their party went viral on social media, garnering a lot of attention to this case.
"We urge the general public to remain calm since the Police are committed to ensuring that we live in peaceful, secure, and orderly communities," the police said in an effort to reassure the people.
