In a disturbing event in the Ashanti Region's Bekwai area, police have detained five individuals for reportedly murdering a local teacher and robbing him of GH₵300, according to a post posted by GHOne TV on Monday.

Residents are grieving the death of a revered educator who was well-known for his commitment to kids and the community as a result of the horrific murder that rocked the neighborhood.

Initial reports state that the suspects attacked the instructor, whose identity has not been made public, as he was leaving for home.

The teacher was attacked in a remote area by the five people, who were allegedly acting as a local gang of robbers. Because the teacher was carrying his monthly salary, which the robbers intended to take, police believe the attack was premeditated.

Unfortunately, the attackers killed him and disposed of his body rather than merely robbing him.

Local sources and witnesses claim that when the instructor did not return home at his regular hour, the neighborhood got concerned. His lifeless body was found by several residents in a remote area of the district after hours of searching.

Investigators from the police quickly found evidence of a violent struggle and other indications of criminal conduct. Officers were able to identify and apprehend the five individuals based on information from locals and CCTV footage in the vicinity.

According to a Bekwai police spokeswoman,

"Thanks to quick investigation work and community members' suggestions, we were able to capture these individuals. We are dedicated to provide the victim and his family with justice because this is a tragic tragedy."

The police further disclosed that the suspects were discovered in possession of GH₵300 in cash, which is thought to have been the victim's stolen funds.
