Sad News: Ghanaians Lament a Former Deputy Minister's Unexpected and Sudden Death

in line with a GhanaWeb story. Dr. Bernice Adiku Heloo, a former member of parliament representing Hohoe, which is in Ghana's Volta Region, passed away. The 70-year-old Dr. Heloo died early on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, following a brief illness, according to sources from 3news.com.

Both family members and National Democratic Congress party officials have confirmed this awful news.

The birthdate of Dr. Heloo is September 24, 1954. From January 2013 to January 2020, she served as Hohoe's representative in Ghana's 6th and 7th Parliaments of the 4th Republic. She made the decision not to run in the 2020 parliamentary primary for her party.

She also served as the Deputy Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation during the first term of President John Dramani Mahama, which ran from 2013 to 2017.

Dr. Bernice Adiku Heloo was a devoted public worker who did a good job serving her nation and community. Her services to Ghana and Hohoe will never be forgotten. Many will be missing her.
