Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, the Krontihene of Akyem Asoum, claims that Samira Bawumia, the wife of NPP flagbearer, was deeply disappointed by her husband's loss to John Mahama in the presidential election.
In a recent interview, Nana Boadi claimed that Samira was intensely committed in her husband's presidential campaign, imagining herself as a First Lady with a sense of style and public presence.
"Dr. Bawumia is not happy; he did his best and was desperate for the position," stated Nana Boadi.
"But someone else was even more unhappy: Samira. "She was so desperate for the position."
Nana Boadi remarked that Samira Bawumia was a prominent figure during the NPP campaign, frequently taking center stage.
He ascribed this to her desire to become First Lady, as well as her ability to attract the audience with her style and personality.
"You know, our good old Auntie Rebecca [Akufo-Addo] was not very extroverted, so Samira was usually in the spotlight. "She wanted to be the First Lady," he claimed.
He continued, "If the NPP had won, she would have killed a lot. 'She will kill aaah Ghanaian ladies all go bore die,'" he said, implying that her style would have created trends and possibly even inspired jealousy.
Nana Boadi suggested that Samira's evident disappointment represented the overall tone of the Bawumia household following the election loss.
“She is very unhappy,” he stated.
