Former Ashanti Regional Minister Samuel Sarpong has said that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, believes John Dramani Mahama will win the 2024 elections, according to Ghana Web on Thursday, January 9, 2025.According to Sarpong, before the elections, the Asantehene presented Mahama with a detailed development program for the Ashanti Region during a courtesy visit.

Sarpong added that Otumfuo's confidence in Mahama's success was demonstrated when the Asantehene handed over a book containing a vision for the region's development.

This gesture was designed to help Mahama's future administration with regional development. "Otumfuo believed in Mahama winning, and the book was meant to prepare him for the task ahead," Sarpong told me.

The former minister also stated that if elected, Mahama would focus on completing unfinished projects from the previous government of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

"Mahama has Asanteman in his heart," Sarpong stated, emphasizing the importance of Ashanti's support for Mahama during elections.

He stated that the former president would prioritize Ashanti's development and ensure that unfulfilled promises were realized.

This disclosure has aroused debate about Mahama's future leadership strategy, specifically how he intends to address the Ashanti Region's developmental requirements.
