According to GHOne, at the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, January 12, 2025, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams urged President John Dramani Mahama to prioritize justice and accountability in his administration.

Speaking to a gathering at the University of Professional Studies in Accra (UPSA), the famous preacher underlined the need of rewarding good actions and punishing evil in national administration. "Justice means rewarding people for good deeds and punishing people for wrongdoing," Archbishop Duncan Williams stated, emphasizing that these ideals must drive President Mahama's administration for the benefit of all Ghanaians.

During the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service to commemorate the NDC's victory in the 2024 elections, the revered Archbishop reflected on Ghana's potential under the new leadership. He expressed hope that President Mahama's administration will create a climate conducive to success, free of the difficulties many Ghanaians are currently experiencing. "I look forward to a Ghana under President Mahama where the atmosphere is conducive for prosperity, where Ghanaians will not queue for visas to leave the country," Mr. Williams said.

The Archbishop also used the occasion to provide advice to appointees and government officials. He advised them to keep their emphasis on serving the people, cautioning against developing transactional relationships that value personal benefit over national achievement. "Don't forget the people who voted for you," he said. He went on to laud President Mahama and his wife for their exceptional love and commitment to the country, emphasizing the significance of people-centered leadership.

In a separate development, Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Divine Agbeko, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Ghana (EPCG), addressed important national issues. "Take the naughty stealing taxes. They will tax money in your pocket after it has already been taxed." You want to send money? They will accept it again. "Take those naughty taxes away and do something better," he said, urging the government to act in the best interests of the people by removing such financial barriers.
