The Gbese Stool, commanded by Paramount Chief Nii Ayi Bonte II, has issued a severe warning to anyone intending to build unapproved constructions on Kantamanto property.

According to a CitiNewsRoom story from Saturday, January 4, 2025, at a recent news conference, the chief clarified that the land is owned by the Gbese Stool, not the government.

Nii Ayi Bonte II highlighted the stool's development goals, announcing his intention to collaborate with investors to enhance the area for greater benefit.

He insisted that unlawful reconstruction be prohibited, emphasizing the importance of order and respect for traditional authority.

"The land is owned by someone, so no one should break the law and build any wooden structures.

"We will never accept this attitude again," he stated.

This warning comes in the aftermath of a disastrous fire on January 2, 2025, that destroyed the popular Kantamanto Market.

Traders have suffered considerable losses as the once-thriving commercial hub was reduced to rubble.

The Gbese Stool remains dedicated to maintaining the land's proper usage, urging partners to respect traditional custodianship as redevelopment plans progress.
