The Ahafo, Volta ballot printing errors were discovered by us, not by NDC-EC.

Claims that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) alerted the Electoral Commission (EC) to irregularities in the Ahafo and Volta ballot printing have been denied by Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairman of the EC. He said that the Commission's own internal auditors had found the mistakes.

This comes after Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, the NDC's Deputy Director of Elections and IT, said that if the party hadn't raised the alarm, the irregularities would have gone undiscovered. The opposition party cannot claim credit for the discovery, Dr. Bossman argued. Our security staff and our own internal auditors conducted the rounds and provided us with the information. Based on input from our local offices, the Electoral Commission took action. The NDC did not submit any formal or informal complaints to us.

The printing company promised to give us all the serial numbers accurately, but our team told us there were still gaps, thus the EC made the decision. We chose to designate two of our esteemed printers to handle the Volta Region in order to guarantee ballot integrity. Therefore, there is no proof to back up Dr. Tanko's claim that the NDC warned us before we took action," he said. On Saturday, November 16, he made this statement on JoyNews’ Newsfile. Dr. Bossman added that reprinting is being done in an attempt to protect the electoral process's integrity.
