Claims that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) alerted the Electoral Commission (EC) to irregularities in the Ahafo and Volta ballot printing have been denied by Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairman of the EC. He said that the Commission's own internal auditors had found the mistakes.

This comes after Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, the NDC's Deputy Director of Elections and IT, said that if the party hadn't raised the alarm, the irregularities would have gone undiscovered. The opposition party cannot claim credit for the discovery, Dr. Bossman argued. Our security staff and our own internal auditors conducted the rounds and provided us with the information.
