Exactly a week ago, H.E. John Dramani Mahama led the NDC to the largest and sweetest election triumphs of the Fourth Republic.

President Mahama and the NDC lost the 2016 elections by nearly a million votes, which became a source of mockery for H.E. Mahama and the NDC as a whole.

However, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, the NDC broke the 2016 record by defeating the Bawumia-led NPP in an unexpected fashion.

In this regard, the NDC set a number of electoral records that had never been broken before.

1. President Mahama mercilessly blew apart Bawumia with over 1.6 million votes difference

2. The NDC in a bullish manner swept every single seat in the Upper East, Upper West, Volta Region, Oti Regions.

3. The NDC turned the NPP’s major world bank (Ashanti Reference) into a micro savings bank. For the first time ever, the NDC won 10 seats in the Ashanti Region leaving election watchers awestruck .

4. In Greater Accra the NDC again blew the NPP out of the water taking 31 seats out of 34.

The victory was so decisive that Bawumia and the NPP conceded before we could say anything. The NPP government appears to be in a hurry to hand over, which is unusual for a bunch of individuals who promised not to take over.
