On the Techiman-Wenchi highway, a KIA Rhino truck and a Daewoo Matiz cab collided, killing three persons.

The accident occurred yesterday in Nkonsia when the KIA Rhino, registration number AS 7102-13, carrying cashew nuts crashed head-on with the Daewoo Matiz cab, registration GN 356-19. The impact seriously wrecked the taxi, locking the people inside.

According to eyewitnesses, two male passengers in the taxi died on the scene from their injuries. A female passenger who was transported to Wenchi Methodist Hospital died from her injuries.

Emergency personnel came on the spot to recover the dead and provide help. The reason of the collision has yet to be determined, but authorities have begun investigations.

Residents have raised worry about the frequency of accidents on the Techiman-Wenchi highway, urging for stronger enforcement of traffic restrictions to improve road safety.
