The presiding officer held the pink sheet during the recollection at the Gt Accra EC office.

Residents of the Ablekuma North Constituency in the Greater Accra Region are the only people who do not have representation in Ghana's 9th Parliament.

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) has yet to complete the recollation of the constituency's 2024 parliamentary election results after canceling the initially declared results, which were in favor of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Ewurabena Aubynn.

The EC nullified the declaration and ordered a re-collection of the results, claiming that it was done without the results from around 61 polling stations.

After back-and-forth in court, the re-collation was completed, but the results of 13 polling stations were disputed, with the EC, the NDC, and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stating they did not have pink sheets from the aforementioned stations.

The pink papers for the polling locations in question were discovered, allowing the re-collation process to resume on January 8, 2024.

However, the NDC claimed that the pink sheets given for the exercise were doctored, prompting the presiding officers of the relevant polling stations to verify the pink sheets.

A video uploaded by Citi FM on X captured the moment one of the presiding officers refused the pink sheet he was meant to issue.

After initially verifying some of the data on the pink sheet, the presiding officer expressed surprise when he reached the section on rejected ballots.

He stated he had no awareness of the figure that had been recorded there.

"The figures are right, but we did not get any rejected ballots. But I see rejected ballots here. I can't confirm that. "We had no rejected ballot papers that day," he stated.
