Rev Abraham Lamptey, the lead pastor of Believers House of Worship International, lauded former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for accepting defeat in the 2024 presidential race.

Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, January 12, 2025, the pastor commended the former vice president, who was the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) presidential candidate in the 2024 election, with maintaining calm in the country following the election.

He stated that even though Dr. Bawumia lost the election, he deserves credit for conceding loss, since not everyone would have done so.

"My gratitude belongs to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. You must be spiritual to honor that man. You have to be spiritual to respect that man. You must be spiritual to express gratitude to God for blessed Ghana with a guy like Dr. Mahamudu; else, you will not comprehend. It is simple to assume that he was defeated; nevertheless, not everyone accepts loss. "Not everyone honors their predecessors," he explained.

"So, Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, my name is Abraham Lamptey. I am sure you recognize me. And my greetings to Hajia Samira. Thank you for hearing God's voice and granting Ghana the peace we enjoy today. "Thank you, Sir," he said.

The preacher went on to say that Bawumia's actions demonstrate that he has God's favor and have earned him greater affection and esteem.

"Some of us understand that you hear God. What you did is indicative of someone who has heard God. Many will disagree with you. But if God is on your side, that's fine. And what you did gained you more respect and love than you ever expected. "Thank you."

Less than 12 hours after the 2024 presidential election, the former vice president conceded defeat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) nominee, now President John Dramani Mahama.

Dr. Bawumia indicated that his decision to concede defeat was intended to defuse tensions and keep the country at peace.
